There are many paths and roadblocks to a successful design project. As designers we often tend to feel that we're in an uphill battle to create our vision, or even a shared vision, while constraints like time, budget, technology and manpower are tearing little holes into the final product. And these do not even include battling to get approval of the actual creative itself.
Many of these obstacles can be overcome with proper planning and follow through. Often this tends to be a skillset just a little left of a designers sweet spot, therefore we don't put enough importance on it and it becomes a self defeating circle.
I know you have stories about projects that have spiralled out of control. In this thread try adding some of the "best practices" (ugh, that term bugs me) that you use to ensure that projects go the best they can, and end up a success to the client and something you can be proud of!
